9th Anniversary

Yesterday was mine and Brian's 9th anniversary. It has been so wonderful sharing my life with Brian. He is my Captain Awesome! For our anniversary we decided to go to the Columbus Temple. It has been a really long time since we went so we were excited to go. We drove down the night before so we could get an early start on our temple work. We walked up to the temple hand in hand feeling good about doing our service. Brian reached for the door and pulled. It didn't open. It was locked! We both stared laughing. Brian said that he checked on line, but there wasn't a schedule posted. He also tried to call, but he got the machine. That should have clued us in. As were were standing there, in front of the doors, laughing in disbelief, a gentle man in white opened the doors. He invited us in and proceeded to explain that the temple is only open in the mornings on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturdays. He said that the only reason why he was there was to clean the building. I reflex to offer to help when anyone says that they are working on something, so I offered our help. So, for two hours Brian and I got to go in every room of the temple that wasn't locked and clean. It was AWESOME!! We had such a good time! It was so cool to just roam around unattended, something you don't get to do usually. It was an amazing experience. Not what we had planned, but cleaning the temple made our anniversary unforgettable.
I just have to publicly tell Brian how much I love you. Thank-you for holding my hand through some really hard times and all the joyful ones.
